Alarming reports are coming in from the jail where former NFL sensation, O.J. Simpson, is carrying out his sentence. Several media outlets are reporting that Simpson has been on a hunger strike for some time now as a means to end his life.
The National Enquirer, via Radar, claims that friends of Simpson are beginning to get worried about his rapidly falling weight and about his losing the will to live.
“He just won’t eat, and you can tell by his voice that he just wants to die. That’s exactly what is going to happen to him unless some good news drops out of the sky to cheer him up and give him a reason to live; however, that doesn’t seem likely,” says an insider.
O.J. apparently went into a deep depression after he was denied an early release from prison when it emerged that he might be suffering from brain cancer. Wanting to settle matters quickly, he has now decided that he won't eat anymore and he won't let doctors help him in any way.
The same insider quotes O.J. “They ain’t ever going to let me out of here: I’m not going to eat, and I won’t let docs at the prison revive me in any way. I will fight it. I used to live my way, and now, I’m going to die my way!”
His decision to quickly end his life is also supported by the knowledge that, upon his death, his children stand to inherit large sums of money from his NFL pension account. Apparently, that account has been steadily accumulating wealth since he's entered prison and has now reached millions of dollars.
Simpson is so determined to carry out his threat, that he's also denying doctors to carry out any further investigation into his presumed brain cancer diagnosis, “I’m not letting any more doctors probe my head. My life is already over,” he told the insider.
At the moment, O.J. Simpson is serving time at the Nevada Lovelock Correctional Center for his 2008 conviction on kidnapping, armed robbery, assault and other charges. He previously petitioned to President Obama for an early release because he didn't want to die “like a common jailhouse scum.”
