Cynthia Lynn: ‘Hogan’s Heroes’ Star Dies At 76


So sad! Cynthia Lynn, who starred as Colonel Klink’s secretary Fraulein Helga on ‘Hogan’s Heroes’, has died at age 76. She was one of the last surviving cast members of the show.

Cynthia Lynn, a Latvian actress who was best known for playing Helga during the first season of Hogan’s Heroes from 1965-66, died on March 10 at 76. She had been battling hepatitis.

Cynthia died on March 10 in Los Angeles after doctors diagnosed her with hepatitis on March 7.

Cynthia, who had previously been in good health, was taken to the hospital on March 7 after her leg swelled up, family members tell TMZ. She died a few days later of multiple organ failure.

Cynthia, who was born Zinta Valda Zimilis in Riga, Latvia, appeared in shows including Gidget Grows Up, Mission: Impossible, The Odd Couple, and The Six Million Dollar Man. She made her final on-screen appearance in a 1975 episode of Harry O.

Cynthia was one of the last surviving cast members of CBS’ popular 1960s military comedy. Her co-star Robert Clary, who played Cpl. Louis LeBeau on the show, is believed to be the finalHogan’s Heroes star still living. He just celebrated his 88th birthday on March 1.
Cynthia Lynn Will Be ‘Truly Missed’

Cynthia was also featured in Marlon Brando‘s 1965 film Bedtime Story. After Marlon died in 2004, Cynthia’s daughter, Lisa Brando, claimed that Marlon was her father.

Lisa posted about her mother’s death on Facebook, saying, “Just wanted to thank you all so much for all your prayers and support during this difficult time. My mother will be truly missed. All my love to you and all her loving fans. XOXO”.
