Gunman who killed three Baton Rouge officers was identified as a former US Marine.

The gunman in a Baton Rouge shooting that killed three cops was identified as Gavin Long, 29, a former Marine from Kansas City, Missouri, law enforcement sources told ABC News. Long was discharged in August 2010 after five years of service, records show.
Three police officers are dead and three others injured from the shooting in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, which happened after officers responded to a 911 call of a man in all black walking around with a rifle, officials said.
The suspect, who was not identified by police at an afternoon press conference, died at the scene, Louisiana State Police Superintendent Col. Mike Edmonson said this afternoon. He said there is no active shooter scenario but the investigation is ongoing.
"We believe the person that shot and killed our officers, that he is a person that was shot and killed at the scene," Edmonson said. He said police do not believe there are "any other shooter[s] held up ... in the Baton Rouge area."
The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office said earlier today that officials believed two suspects might have been at large.
The shooting happened around 8:45 a.m. in the Old Hammond area -- less than a mile from police headquarters, officials said. The incident began when officers responded to a 911 call reporting that a man wearing all black was walking around with a rifle, officials said.
Three officers died: Two worked for the Baton Rouge police department and one worked for the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's office, police said.
Three officers were injured: one officer was in critical condition and the two others suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
One of the Baton Rouge police officers killed in the shooting was 41 years old with just under one year of service, police said. The other was 32 years old with 10 years of service. The third officer killed today, an East Baton Rouge Parish deputy, was 45 years old.
"This is truly a sad day in Baton Rouge," Mayor Kip Holden said. "We continue to ask the question and continue to make the statement, let peace prevail in Baton Rouge and this parish. We must look ahead.
"We thank our officers who have fallen in the line of duty, we pray for their families and we pray for peace everywhere," Holden said.
Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards said in a statement, "This is an unspeakable and unjustified attack on all of us at a time when we need unity and healing.
"Rest assured, every resource available to the state of Louisiana will be used to ensure the perpetrators are brought swiftly to justice," Edwards said.
The Sunday morning shootings come in the wake of the death of Alton Sterling, a black man who was shot and killed after an altercation with Baton Rouge police officers on July 5. Sterling's death and the police-involved death of a black man in Minnesota a day later sparked nationwide protests. Then on July 7, a gunman targeted police officers at a protest in Dallas, killing five officers and wounding others.
In the wake of Sterling's death, there were calls to "purge" cops in Baton Rouge.
A warning issued by the FBI's New Orleans field office on July 7 mentioned "threats to law enforcement and potential threats to the safety of the general public" stemming from Sterling's shooting.
One image on social media said the Baton Rouge "purge" would start July 9 at midnight and end July 10 at 5 a.m.
The FBI said the information was not officially confirmed but was issued to alert law enforcement to be aware.
Last week, Alton Sterling's 15-year-old son, Cameron Sterling, urged Baton Rouge residents to "protest in peace."
President Obama told reporters today, "This has happened far too often."
"I know whenever this happens, wherever this happens, you feel it. Your families feel it. But what I want you to know today is the respect and the gratitude of the American people for everything that you do for us," he said.
Obama mentioned how he traveled to Dallas five days ago for a memorial service for the five officers killed there.
"I said that that killer would not be the last person who tries to make us turn on each other, nor will today's killer," Obama said. "It remains up to us to make sure that they fail. That decision is all of ours. The decision to make sure that our best selves are reflected across America, not our worst."
The Louisiana State Police Department is leading the investigation into today's shooting.
The FBI New Orleans office said it "has personnel on scene in Baton Rouge to assist our law enforcement colleagues. At this time, our focus is to help identify and bring to justice those who are responsible for this heinous act."
The Department of Homeland Security said it is "in contact with the FBI, Baton Rouge law enforcement, and our fusion center partners there, and the Secretary has directed that the full weight of the Department's resources be made available."
Obama said in a statement earlier today, "I condemn, in the strongest sense of the word, the attack on law enforcement in Baton Rouge.  For the second time in two weeks, police officers who put their lives on the line for ours every day were doing their job when they were killed in a cowardly and reprehensible assault.  These are attacks on public servants, on the rule of law, and on civilized society, and they have to stop."
He said he has offered the support of the federal government to state and local authorities in Louisiana.
"And make no mistake – justice will be done," he said. "We may not yet know the motives for this attack, but I want to be clear:  there is no justification for violence against law enforcement.  None.  These attacks are the work of cowards who speak for no one.  They right no wrongs.  They advance no causes.  The officers in Baton Rouge; the officers in Dallas –- they were our fellow Americans, part of our community, part of our country, with people who loved and needed them, and who need us now -– all of us -– to be at our best."

Heart of the matter.

You have no problem today cutting through the subterfuge and getting right to the heart of the matter. Despite word tricks and other misleading activities, you see exactly what's going on and where it's leading. Impatience with this beating-around-the-bush waste of time could cause you to be unusually direct. In the circumstances, however, such a straightforward approach could cause others to go on the defensive. Coax the situation along with tact and composure.

The state department reopens internal probe Hillary Clinton email.

State Department is re-opening an internal investigation into whether Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and her top aides mishandled classified information, Fox News confirmed late Thursday.

The investigation, which was first reported by the Associated Press, focuses on how classified emails to and from Clinton's private server were categorized at the time they were sent.

The State Department started its review in January after declaring 22 emails from Clinton's private server to be "top secret." The investigation was halted after the FBI began investigating Clinton's so-called "homebrew" email setup last April. On Wednesday, Attorney General Loretta Lynch said there would be no indictments resulting from the FBI probe.

"Given the Department of Justice has now made its announcement, the State Department intends to conduct its internal review," State Department spokesman John Kirby said in a statement. "Our goal will be to be as transparent as possible about our results, while complying with our various legal obligations."

Kirby set no deadline for the investigation's completion.

Clinton was secretary of state until early 2013. Most of her top advisers left shortly thereafter.

Kirby said earlier this week that former officials can still face "administrative sanctions." The most serious of those penalties is loss of security clearances, which could complicate Clinton's naming of a national security team if she becomes president.

Beyond the Democratic front-runner, the probe is most likely examining confidants Cheryl Mills, Jake Sullivan and Huma Abedin, who wrote many of the emails to their boss that the various investigations have focused on. Mills, Clinton's chief of staff at the State Department, has been viewed as a possibility for the same job in the White House. There is speculation that Sullivan, Clinton's former policy chief, could be national security adviser.

The State Department says it won't identify former officials that still hold security clearances. But in an email Fox News made public in February, the department described Mills as still holding a valid clearance.

Donald Trump might be dropping out of the election.

The traditional goal of a presidential nominee is to win the presidency and then serve as president.

Donald J. Trump is not a traditional candidate for president.

Presented in a recent interview with a scenario, floating around the political ether, in which the presumptive Republican nominee proves all the naysayers wrong, beatsHillary Clinton and wins the presidency, only to forgo the office as the ultimate walk-off winner, Mr. Trump flashed a mischievous smile.

“I’ll let you know how I feel about it after it happens,” he said minutes before leaving his Trump Tower office to fly to a campaign rally in New Hampshire.

It is, of course, entirely possible that Mr. Trump is playing coy to earn more news coverage. But the notion of the intensely competitive Mr. Trump’s being more interested in winning the presidency than serving as president is not exactly a foreign concept to close observers of this presidential race.

Early in the contest, his rivals, Republican operatives and many reporters questioned the seriousness of his candidacy. His knack for creating controversy out of thin air (this week’s edition: the Star of David Twitter post) and his inclination toward self-destructive comments did not instill confidence in a political culture that values on-message discipline in its candidates.

Sense of purpose.

When the rituals you rely on to feel normal get interrupted. That should not displace your entire sense of purpose. If it does. It's a signal to come with a purpose God is stronger. With deeper roots.

Dance around the work than actually doing it.

You're probably feel more like dancing around the work than actually doing it. And that's okay. If you keep your eyes open while dancing, you will notice something key that contains everything.

Frustrations.

Before you have very strong lead to frustration like today's. But you are a lot more patient now. When you feel frustration, you know it won't be long before you're strong sense of recent texts over!.

The Pledge of Allegiance!.

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America. And to the Republic for which it stands one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all.

The reasone why I hate the Memphis Grizzlies!

The reason why the Memphis Grizzlies were swept out of the playoffs by the San Antonio Spurs 4 games to nothing in the first round is the cause the Memphis Grizzlies nothing more than washed-up has-beens you don't know when to give it up with both Marc Gasol and Michael Conley sidelined they got no skill set they got no Street smarts and they got no Manpower not whatsoever and why they don't have the because they are nothing but shameless desperate parasites nothing but a bunch of whiny pathetic NBA wash-ups who did not the San Antonio Spurs by forcing game 5 which the Memphis Grizzlies have failed to do so with that being said the hops and their dreams of because future NBA champions are officially over and done Maybe the Memphis Grizzlies she goes back to that disgusting vile unpleasant sickening abominable unsavory hell hole they puked out of in Vancouver Canada and as for Dave Joerger as far as I'm concerned he could take that sympathy that he has for the Memphis Grizzlies when he was whining crying and bitching with them fake ass tears running down his face and he can shove it because he needs to go ahead and retire from coaching with a little dignity because he does not deserve to be in Memphis Tennessee. That's all I got to say about that.
