‘The Voice’: Shakira and Usher Returning For Season 6

The Voice Shakira Usher

Shakira & Usher are coming back to ‘The Voice’ — and much sooner than you might think!

If you loved Shakira and Usher on the fourth season of The Voice, you’ll definitely want to turn around for this news: NBC officially announced Dec. 17 that both former coaches will return for the show’s upcoming sixth season! They’ll rejoin Adam Levine and Blake Shelton in those famous red swivel chairs when season six begins Feb. 24 at 8 p.m. ET.

Like most Voice events, the premiere will take place over two nights, concluding Feb. 25 at 8 p.m. And while this means Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green will be taking the season off, don’t expect them to disappear from The Voice forever. This show, and its constantly rotating panel of coaches — isn’t going anywhere.
‘The Voice’: Shakira & Usher — Why We Can’t Wait For Their Return

We didn’t know how to react when we first learned that Shakira and Usher were joining The Voice back in season four, but it didn’t take long for us to completely fall in love with them as coaches. HollywoodLife.com gushed over the new duo back in April 2013, proclaiming season four to be the best one yet, largely due to the chemistry between Shakira, Usher and the other coaches.

This news broke on the night of The Voice‘s season four finale – a coincidence, I’m sure – which found Tessanne Chin, Will Champlin and Jacquie Lee going head-to-head for the right to be called the new Voice champion.
